	Teach Mum/Dad how to:    Send and receive text messages.    Switch on reports (if necessary).    Use punctuation and symbols.    Use predictive text (if available).    Hold down keys for numbers.    Set up a phone book and store numbers of your best mates.
	Only give number to friends.    If plans change, send new text.    For emergency keep £5 note in back of phone.    If alone set phone to vibrate so not to draw attention.    If taking lift or taxi - text reg number to someone you trust.    Most phones allow 999 calls even if no credit left or keypad locked.    Dial *#06# for phone serial number & keep in safe place.    Call 'Immobilise' on 08701 123123 if phone is stolen.

	Spend time together learning the basics of how to text.    Put contact numbers of your son/daughter's friends in your phonebook.
	Trouble typing? "Predictive Text"(or T9) may be on!    Pressing ## turns this on/off on most handsets    Predictive Text saves time - but can cause havoc too!    Always read texts before sending -'mum' comes up as 'nun',    'home' as 'good' , for example.    After typing, press Ok or Yes to send .
