Milly's Fund has already completed a number of partnership projects.
Our first main project was to produce a personal safety video, suitable for
11-16 year olds, for use in schools. We worked in partnership with the Home
Office and the Department for Education and Skills.
Last year we were chosen as O2's internal charity and we worked very closely
with them to launch Teach UR Mum 2 TXT a safety initiative to encourage teenagers
to stay in touch with their parents by text and vice versa.
We piloted our first teacher training course with the help of Unilever Ice Cream &
Frozen Food.   The course was held at their premises in Walton on Thames and a
number of Unilever staff were involved in the organisation and evaluation of the day.
This project was in partnership with Surrey Police and Air Products. The idea
was to get students to come up with some eyecatching designs for postcards.
The postcards would feature safety tips on the back, and would be circulated
around schools and cinemas.
In December 2003 we were very kindly offered free office space by Elmbridge
Housing Trust and hence a partnership began.   The North Walton Community
Wardens and Milly's Fund are presently working on a joint initiative aimed at
distributing personal alarms to the local community, particularly children
and young adults.
Milly’s Fund launched another personal safety initiative in a joint venture with
the police charity CVOC (Child Victims of Crime). The new booklet called ‘Tackle
Safety’ was backed and supported by O2 and the RFU.
